▶ Read the Alpha gist — “The Maker That Doesn't Run”
We pointed our most aggressive weapon at our own market maker — a bot that buys every high and sells every low, the most toxic flow you can design — and it could not draw blood. On every fill, the aggressor got a price inside Hyperliquid's wick. The maker stood firm, the taker got a fair fill, and nobody got blown out.
Sidepit (blue) vs Hyperliquid (orange), 5-minute candles. Hyperliquid's wicks stab deeper on every spike; Sidepit's stop short — the firm quote that doesn't get dragged to the tick-low.
Each aggressive fill on Sidepit vs Hyperliquid's worst price that same minute (the wick), futures basis removed:
| time (UTC) | aggressor | Sidepit fill | beat HL wick by |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17:13 | sold | 67,500 | +61 |
| 17:17 | sold | 67,546 | +70 |
| 22:12 | bought | 67,182 | +84 |
| 23:00 | sold | 66,335 | +117 |
| 23:02 | bought | 66,203 | +46 |
| 23:05 | sold | 66,335 | +87 |
The Sidepit future (blue) and the hedge book = future − basis (dashed) landing on Hyperliquid spot — validating the basis. The triangles are the taker's fills.
